Andy Hagiioannu is a UK based guitarist and composer. He  has toured and recorded with groups including Down to the Bone (Blue Note, Verve Records)  and Afro Elements (P-Vine, Japan/Splash Records, Europe). As a composer, his music is heard worldwide on TV and in film. He has credits on channels and networks including the BBC, ITV, Sky, Fox, Channel 4, Now, Discovery, Netflix, MTV, NBC, ESPN, E4, History Channel, and National Geographic.

Andy's music has featured in promotional campaigns for brands including Toyota, Ford, and Microsoft, and recently featured in the Cannes prize-winning film, ‘Mommy’ (Festival Jury Prize). His track  ''System Overload' featured in the US coverage of the 2018 Coppa del Mondo (FIFA World Cup).  He has also written the music for numerous games and apps, including the No. 1 international bestseller ‘Kami’ (Mac App Store ‘Editor’s Choice’ and ‘Best of 2013’).

For several years Andy’s music has featured in videos employed by the World Health Organisation for training healthcare workers around the world. These videos are also used by around 7000 other organisations globally, including UNICEF, Medecins Sans Frontier and Save the Children. In 2021 he was commissioned by Global Health Media Project to write another series of compositions for use by these organisations. The music is now completed and the new videos will begin to appear in 2021. 


Andy's recordings have been warmly received  in publications including Cadence Magazine, Jazz USA, and Just Jazz Guitar. He is currently guitarist with the jazz funk band Afro Elements, and appears on their critically acclaimed sophomore album 'Out of the Centre', alongside musicians including legendary guitarist Barry Finnerty (Miles Davis, The Crusaders, Billy Cobham and the Brecker Brothers).
